After a long day of waiting the 2.0 iPod touch software update finally came online at 12:24 am est. After agreeing to the terms and conditions the update started downloading at 12:25 and was done at 12:27. At that time my iPod began backing up in preparation for the software update, a process that took about 20 minutes. After the backup finished itunes began extracting the software from the iPod which only took 20 seconds. After it had extracted the software itunes began restoring my data, taking 8 minutes to restore my various settings and info at which at that point it began installing software 2.0. The software was installed in two minutes which at 12:55 am began the process of putting my music and videos back on the iPod while I watched The Fifth Element on hulu. By the time my 12 GB of music and video was restored it was 1:34 am I had gotten through at good part of the movie as the restore had taken almost 40 minutes but now I was ready to rock with software 2.0.
